Having to dial a prefix for different call types (eg: call18185 or 1899), or pressing a one-touch memory button before each call is a hassle, but forgetting to dial the prefix or press the memory button is costly!
However disciplined you are in dialling the prefix, what about other people in the house or office? Children?? No chance.
The only solution is an easy to program Dialler or Telephone, which automatically inserts the right prefix for the different call types. Whether it’s a call to a mobile, an international destination or a local number, the Dialler or Telephone can be programmed to route the call over your chosen low cost call provider, it can even be programmed to chose different providers for different times of day or weekends.
Least Cost Routing is using alternative telecoms providers (carriers), such as call18866, instead of BT to route your call to its destination. Least Cost Routing will make your calls cheaper, the only difference is that you will be billed by that provider for your calls. To access these least cost routing services you will need to dial a prefix (18185 for example) before the number you dial, the Orchid LCR range do this for you, saving you time and money, but at the same time offering the flexibility of using more than one carrier or provider.
If you are using just one Low cost call carrier e.g. 18866 to route all your calls irrespective of the time of day or day of week, the V2 Dialler is the one you need. If however you wish to route multiple carriers or selectively just route the one carrier, but based upon the type of call, international, national or mobile calls for example or based upon the time of the day or day of week you will need the V4. For time based routing plans, those with FREE evening and weekend calls, we recommend the V4+ Dialler.
If you're still unsure as to which dialler will meet your needs, simply email us at Enquiries and we'll advise accordingly.
The simple rule is one Dialler per Phone Socket. The Dialler has 2 sockets for Telephone equipment, only products plugged into these sockets will route calls over your Low cost call providers network.
The Diallers and the Ranger 400 DECT phone will work on cable lines; including Telewest, NTL, Cable And Wireless.
Both the V2 and the V4 diallers and the Ranger 400 will work with ADSL and your home broadband. If you have a broadband connection please make sure that you plug the filter in to your BT socket on the wall and then plug the dialler/phone in to the "voice" side of the filter, the one marked "phone" (or with a picture of a phone on it).
